Our shop's internet went out for 6 hours on a Friday and I lost a $4,800 bid because of it
Two Fridays back our business internet just died around 9am and stayed dead until almost 3 in the afternoon. I run a painting crew out of a small shop near Boise and we had a bid due that day for a 14 unit apartment repaint, all the pricing and photos living in the cloud. My estimator sat there refreshing the page while our phones kept kicking over to spotty LTE that choked every time he tried to upload a 40 page PDF. I ended up driving to a McDonald's parking lot just to send the thing, and by then the property manager had already gone with another crew for $4,800 less than us. Our provider blamed a cut line two blocks over and offered us a $30 credit, which felt like a joke. Now I'm wondering if a backup line is even worth it for a crew our size, or if I should just keep bids on a laptop and print everything. How do you all handle it when the main line goes down mid workday?
