Switched from booking hotels to hostels in Europe and my wallet is finally happy

I used to spend $120+ a night on private rooms in places like Rome and Paris, but last summer I tried a hostel in Barcelona for $35 a night. Got a private pod with a curtain so I still had my own space. Anyone else make the swap and find a good hostel chain that doesn't feel like a party zoo?

Yes! I did the same thing in Prague last fall and paid like $28 a night. A place called Hostel One Home had these capsule style beds that felt more like a tiny private room than a dorm.
