Spent $40 on a dry bag for my backpack and it saved my whole trip to Costa Rica
Was hiking through the jungle near Monteverde and got caught in a downpour that lasted like 3 hours. My buddy's regular backpack was soaked through, everything inside ruined. My dry bag kept my phone, passport, and extra socks bone dry. Money well spent in my opinion. Anyone else swear by a specific budget piece of gear like that?

Gently disagree on the "budget" part though (haha). A decent dry bag is totally worth $40, that's pretty standard for something that actually keeps water out.

Did you roll it right? Most people mess that up and get their stuff wet anyway. Three rolls minimum and burp the air out before sealing.
