Serious question, did anyone else see the new bus ticket price in Prague?

I was just there last month and the 90-minute pass jumped from 30 CZK to 40 CKR overnight, which is a HUGE hike for budget travelers. It caught me totally off guard and messed up my daily spending plan. Has anyone found a cheaper way to get around the city center now?

My buddy Mark was in Prague last week and got totally blindsided by that price jump. He bought a 90-minute pass without looking and only realized at the tram stop, thinking he got the wrong ticket. He ended up walking almost everywhere after that first day to save cash, said his feet were killing him by the trip's end. It really does throw a wrench in trying to stick to a tight daily budget.

Actually that price seems pretty fair for a major European city. Public transport costs money to run and maintain, you know? Maybe the old price was just too cheap for too long.

But come on, it's a few dollars difference on a trip. If someone's budget is that tight, maybe they should have checked the current prices before traveling. It's not like cities hide their transit fares. A quick online search would have shown the new rate and saved him the sore feet.
