Old timer told me to book flights on Tuesday at 2am... finally tested it

This guy at the hardware store swore he saves hundreds every year by booking flights at 2am on Tuesdays. I always thought it was an old wives tale so I never bothered. Finally tested it last month for a trip to Nashville and the same flight was $60 cheaper at 1:47am than when I checked at 10am that same day. Has anyone else actually seen a difference with the Tuesday thing or was that just luck?

Wait, did you check it at the exact same time or just within the same day? I did a similar test for a flight to Denver and found a $45 drop around 3am on a Wednesday, so maybe there's something to that whole "book when everyone else is asleep" thing.
