I was wrong about hostel dorms being too noisy

Staying in a dorm instead of a private room let me extend my trip by two days.

Seriously? Saving two days is not worth it if you're a zombie from no sleep. I tried that once to save cash and got maybe three hours a night because someone was always rustling bags or coming in late. The money you save just goes to extra coffee anyway. Feels like a bad trade where you win on price but totally lose on actually being rested to enjoy the trip.

I once thought saving on a hostel was smart until I spent the next day napping in a park. My budget trip turned into buying overpriced snacks just to stay awake. Now I just pay for a quiet room and call it a sanity tax.
