I spent years paying $60 a night for hotels before a guy in a hostel in Lisbon showed me the math
I used to book a cheap hotel every trip because I figured hostels were for college kids and I wanted my own bathroom. Back in 2019 I was in Lisbon and the front desk guy at my $60 a night room mentioned he could put me in a private hostel room for $22 with breakfast included. Does anyone else here still avoid hostels on principle, or did you switch over once you saw the price gap?
