Bought a $12 airport lounge pass on a whim and honestly I'm still mad about it
I had a 5 hour layover in Chicago and figured 12 bucks was nothing to get out of those hard plastic seats, but the lounge was packed, the food was just sad little sandwiches, and they wanted $4 for a bottle of water once I got inside. I basically paid $12 to sit in a slightly quieter room with worse snacks than the terminal, so now I'm wondering if I just picked a bad lounge or if these cheap day passes are always a trap. Has anyone actually gotten their money's worth out of one of these things, and if so which airport?
The real scam is that those day passes aren't capped, so when the lounge fills up they just keep selling them knowing full well you'll be fighting for a seat. Next time check if your credit card already gets you in, a lot of them do and people never bother to look.
