Airport food costs have gotten out of control.

I remember when you could grab a cheap meal before a flight. Now a basic sandwich costs a fortune, so I pack my own food to spend less money.

Airports are the masters of the captive audience, @vera668. They know we're stuck there and will pay anything for basic stuff. Your water bottle story is the perfect example of that whole frustrating system.
