Took me 2 years to realize my rice cooker was the problem, not my rice

Every batch came out mushy no matter what I did, then my sister used my cooker at my place and pointed out the water lines inside were totally faded so I'd been eyeballing it all along. She measured with her finger trick and it came out perfect, has anyone else had a cheap cooker mess up measurements like that?
