Switched from frozen chicken strips to a whole rotisserie bird and my grocery bill dropped $30 a week
I used to grab two bags of frozen chicken strips every Sunday at the Kroger on 5th, which ran me about $22 total and barely lasted four dinners. Last week I grabbed a $6 rotisserie chicken instead and pulled the meat into three meals plus a pot of soup from the bones. That is a full week of lunches for less than a third of the price, and it tastes way better too. Now I just hit the store around 7pm when they mark the birds down to $4. Has anyone else figured out what time their local store does the markdowns, or is it different everywhere?
