My slow cooker lid shattered while making chili yesterday

I was prepping a batch of black bean chili with ground turkey and the lid just cracked in half when I set it on the counter. Must have been a hairline fracture from the heat. Has anyone else had a ceramic lid fail on them like this? I'm trying to figure out if I should just buy a replacement lid or get a whole new cooker.

Man that's brutal. A whole lid just cracking in half? I've had some slow cooker mishaps before but never something like that. I'd honestly just buy a whole new cooker at this point. Replacement lids can be tricky to find depending on the brand and they often end up costing almost as much as a new one anyway. Did you check if the manufacturer sells just the lid or do they force you to buy a whole new unit?

Must have been a hairline fracture" sounds like my old pressure cooker that randomly exploded beans all over the ceiling.
