My sister swore by canned beans over dry beans and I resisted for years

She kept telling me that canned beans save so much time and you barely pay more if you get them on sale. I was stubborn and thought dry beans were always cheaper and tasted better. Last month I did a side by side with black beans for tacos. The dry ones took me 3 hours of soaking and boiling and honestly they came out mushy anyway. The canned ones were 88 cents a can on sale at Aldi and ready in 2 minutes. I hate to admit she was right but now I stock up on canned beans whenever they hit that price. Has anyone else found a brand or type of canned bean that tastes just as good as home cooked?

88 cents is actually pretty common for Aldi beans, they're not a special sale price.

Ngl I gotta push back on that one. I've been hitting up Aldi for years and I swear 88 cents used to be the rare sale price, not the everyday thing. Back during the whole inflation spike you'd see beans sitting at like $1.20 a can easy, and now everyone acts like 88 cents is nothing special. Maybe it depends on the region or the specific store, but around here that price still feels like a win compared to the regular $1.09 or whatever they charge.
