My grocery bill for the month came in at $37.50!
I challenged myself to only cook from my pantry and freezer for the last 30 days, and I only bought fresh milk and eggs. It forced me to get creative with lentils, rice, and frozen veggies I'd forgotten about. What's the lowest you've ever gotten your food spending in a month?

That "twenty bucks" figure lisa_bennett mentioned is wild. I read somewhere that during the pandemic, some people were getting their monthly grocery costs down to almost nothing by relying on food banks and growing microgreens on their windowsills. Makes you think about how much we throw away normally, right? I bet half the stuff in my freezer right now is from last year.

Remember that crazy ice storm a few years back? My friend got snowed in and lived on canned chili, a giant bag of rice, and freezer-burned peas for almost a whole month. She said her total was like twenty bucks because she just used what she had.
