Just realized my coworker's tip about freezing leftover broth was a game changer

My desk mate Jenny told me to freeze veggie scraps and bones for broth instead of buying boxes. I finally tried it last Sunday after saving stuff for two weeks. Made a big pot of broth for basically zero dollars and froze half in mason jars. Anyone else have a trick they ignored for way too long that actually works great?

Did you find the broth ended up with a kinda weird texture after freezing? I ask because I tried this with tomato sauce once and it went all watery after thawing. I think maybe I didn't seal the jars tight enough, or maybe it was the salt content messing with the ice crystals. But anyway, the broth trick is solid, I finally got on board with it last month after my neighbor kept raving about it. She freezes hers in silicone ice cube trays so she can just pop out a cube whenever she needs a little, which is way smarter than my giant mason jar approach.

Same here. I ignored that tip for like a year and now I feel dumb for wasting money on store broth.
