I finally stopped buying those bulk spice packs from the discount store

Tried the $2 cinnamon from the discount grocery and it tasted like sawdust in my oatmeal three mornings in a row, so now I just buy one decent jar from the regular store every few months and it actually lasts longer, has anyone else noticed the flavor difference?

Is it bad that I've been buying the cheapest store brand cinnamon for years and just pretending it's fine... like I'm trying to fool my own tastebuds? I swear half the time I'm just sprinkling sawdust on my oatmeal and calling it breakfast. Totally get your struggle though, it's a gamble every time you pick up a new container.
