Honestly, grabbing a $20 rice cooker from the thrift store was the best food budget move I've made in ages.
Ngl, it lets me cook a huge batch of rice for pennies, which becomes the base for like three different meals a week, so has anyone else found a cheap kitchen gadget that really paid off?

My old immersion blender (got it for five bucks at a yard sale). It makes soup from leftovers so easy, and I use it for quick sauces all the time. That thing has saved me a fortune on canned soup over the years.

Totally agree with @alice_wilson73 on this. Those cheap yard sale finds are the best kitchen tools. The immersion blender is a total game changer for turning random veggies and stock into a real meal. It just cuts down on so much waste and time. Honestly, it's one of those things you don't realize you need until you have it. Makes cooking feel way less of a chore.
