Frozen veg vs fresh debate after my coworker's $3 dinner
Last Tuesday my coworker Sarah bragged about feeding her family of four for $3 using frozen peas, carrots, and corn in a pasta dish. I told her fresh is always better for flavor and nutrients, and she laughed saying I must shop at the fancy store downtown. Then I actually priced it out: fresh veg for the same meal was $7.50 at our local Aldi, basically double. Now I'm wondering if I've been wasting money for years on produce that goes bad in my fridge anyway. Anyone else made the switch to frozen for certain meals and noticed a real difference?

My freezer holds a month's worth of frozen blueberries that taste like sweet nothing compared to the fresh ones from the farmers market last July. Sarah saved six bucks, sure, but she also fed her kids that bland, mushy texture that turns them off real vegetables for life. I'd rather pay the extra four dollars and watch them actually eat the damn peas instead of pushing them around the plate.
