Appreciation post: the slow cooker I was dead set against finally won me over
After swearing for years that a Dutch oven was just as good for braising, I grabbed a $20 thrift store slow cooker last fall to make pork shoulder for a potluck and it came out so tender and juicy that I've used it twice a week since.

lol that "prove me wrong" feels like a personal challenge from the universe. I got a $10 blender from a garage sale once that finally died after 8 years and I almost cried. Funny how those cheap finds end up being the ones you can't let go of.
