Appreciation post: My grandmother's 'stretch the roast' method from the 80s
She'd turn one chuck roast into three meals for a family of five, but now I use her same principle with a $12 pork shoulder and my slow cooker. Anyone have a favorite tough cut of meat that becomes amazing with patience?

Grandma's recipes were basically the original life hacks, before we had a fancy word for it! That pork shoulder trick is genius, and honestly, my slow cooker is the only thing that makes some of those cheaper cuts edible. Chuck roast is a total hero when you just ignore it for like eight hours. It's wild how the cheapest meat needs the most time to stop being so angry at you.
