Warning: my $30 phone screen repair kit came with no adhesive, day ruined

Last Saturday I finally got around to fixing my cracked Pixel 5a screen. Bought this kit off Amazon for $30, watched the video twice, had my little suction cup and spudger ready. Got the old screen off clean in like 20 minutes, no breaks, felt like a pro. Then I go to put the new one on and theres no pre-cut adhesive strips in the box. Just the glass and a tiny alcohol wipe. I had to drive 40 minutes to a repair shop and beg them to sell me adhesive separately. They laughed and said this happens all the time with cheap kits. Ended up paying $12 for the adhesive and the whole job took 3 hours. Anyone else get burned by missing parts in those budget repair kits? Should I just spend more next time or is there a brand that actually includes everything?
