Vent: dropped $85 on a wireless charging pad kit for my cracked S10 and it was a total waste
I got one of those universal wireless charging receiver kits for my Galaxy S10 off Amazon for $85 after my charging port got loose and would only charge at a weird angle, and it worked for about two weeks before it just quit. Turns out the receiver coil overheated and melted the adhesive, so it slid out of place and now the phone won't charge at all unless I hold the cable just right. Has anyone actually had luck with these things or should I just pay the $60 to get the port replaced at a shop here in Boise?
Sounds like we both fell for the same Amazon trap, huh? Mine did the exact same thing where the coil got hot and just gave up after a couple weeks. At this point paying the shop $60 is probably the smarter move since throwing more money at those kits is just gambling.
