Update: my cracked iPhone screen fix took 3 tries because of a bad flex cable
Last month my iPhone 12 screen went black after a drop, and a guy on YouTube said to just replace the screen assembly with a $45 part from eBay. First install worked for like 2 hours, then the display flickered and died, turns out the aftermarket cable was faulty, not my soldering or the phone. Second try with a different brand from a local shop in Austin fixed it in 20 minutes, anyone else ever get burned by cheap flex cables before?
