The 3am laptop fan that sounded like a dying lawnmower finally got fixed
After three weeks of that awful grinding noise on my old Dell, I opened it up and found a dust bunny the size of a cotton ball jammed in the fan, and once I pulled it out with tweezers and hit the vent with a can of air, it ran quiet for the first time since I bought it used in Austin, so has anyone else had a fan issue that turned out to be just gunk instead of a real failure?

Man, that fan was probably overdue for a cleaning anyway.
5
