That $28 screen protector pack ruined my whole Saturday repair

I bought a 3 pack of tempered glass protectors for my Pixel off Amazon last month, figured it was a steal. First one went on fine, second one shattered when I sat my phone down, and the third had a bubble I could NOT get out no matter how hard I pressed. Took me 4 hours total messing with them and I finally just peeled it all off and used the phone naked. The glass edge also chipped my case when I tried to snap it back on, so that's $28 down plus a scratched case. Anyone else just stop using protectors after a bad batch like this, or am I doing the install part wrong somehow?

Four hours sounds like you were fighting those things instead of just slapping one on and moving on with your life. I get it, the bubbles are annoying, but at some point you gotta ask if the $28 was really worth that much of your Saturday. Ive had cheap protectors chip cases before too, that part is real, but the whole "ruined my whole day" thing feels like a stretch when you couldve just ordered a different brand and been done in ten minutes. Honestly though, most phones these days can take a drop without a screen protector anyway, so maybe the universe did you a favor. Naked is kinda freeing once you get past the fear.
