Swapped a laptop battery myself for the first time and didn't blow anything up

My 5 year old Dell laptop kept dying after 45 minutes off the charger so I finally ordered a $35 replacement battery from Amazon. Watched a 12 minute YouTube video twice before I even touched a screwdriver because I was nervous about breaking the plastic clips. Got the back panel off without cracking anything which felt like a miracle honestly. The old battery was swollen a little bit so I'm glad I did this when I did instead of waiting longer. Took about 20 minutes total and now the thing lasts 3 hours again like when it was new. Anybody else put off a simple repair for months and then wonder why they waited so long?

Man that swollen battery thing is scary, glad you caught it before it got worse. It's crazy how we'll put off a 20 minute fix for months because we're scared of messing it up.
