I finally fixed my own phone screen after 3 broken attempts
Everyone says to use a heat gun for Samsung screens, but I cracked two that way before I just used a hairdryer on low and it popped right off. Saved $200 in repair costs doing it myself. Has anyone else had better luck with lower heat over the fancy tools?

Hold on, did you actually fix it or just get lucky this time? I've fixed maybe 4 phones over the years and the heat gun worked every time for me. Your mileage may vary with a hairdryer, but I wouldn't risk it on anything newer than a Galaxy S9. Those screens are glued in with some serious stuff, and low heat might not soften it all the way. If you cracked three before this, maybe the issue was something else, like prying too hard or not letting the adhesive soften enough. I'd take this success with a grain of salt until you prove it works on a second phone. Just saying, one time working doesn't make it a solid method.

Honestly, are you sure you're not overthinking this? I used to be on your side about needing a heat gun, but I tried a hairdryer on an S10 last week and it worked fine. Let it sit for a good three minutes with the adhesive softening, and the screen popped off without any cracks. I hear you about the glue being tougher on newer models, but maybe the key is just patience and not rushing it. The three phones I cracked were mostly from prying too fast, not from the heat being weak. So yeah, one success doesn't prove everything, but it made me rethink my whole approach.

One success is luck, but I'd still stick with the heat gun for peace of mind.
