Battery connector pry mistake bricked my phone for 3 days
I was swapping a cracked screen on my Moto G and used a metal spudger to pop the battery connector, shorted something underneath, and the phone wouldn't even vibrate. Had to order a $9 flex cable from a seller in Ohio to fix it. Has anyone else fried a board just by prying the wrong end?

Honestly I'm gonna push back on this one. That Moto G wasn't bricked by the flex cable, it was bricked by you using a metal spudger on a live board. The board did exactly what it was supposed to do when you shorted it. And you got off easy with a $9 part, some people blow the whole power management IC and it's game over. Plus three days is nothing, I've seen guys wait weeks for parts from China because they didn't want to pay for domestic shipping. The phone didn't randomly die on you, you poked the wrong spot and it let you know. That's not a design flaw, that's just basic physics and you learned the cheap way.
