Went back to my old bank branch after 12 years and it hit me different
I stopped in to deposit a check from my mom's estate and the teller asked if I wanted to open a savings account with 0.4% interest. Back in 2012 I was sleeping on a friend's couch and that same bank wouldn't even let me open a checking account because of my overdraft history. I paid off $18k of credit card debt since then but honestly, sitting in that lobby felt like the real proof. Has anyone else gone somewhere unremarkable and realized how far their finances have come?

Tbh that 0.4% interest rate is basically a joke, more of a symbolic thing than actual money. The real flex is walking in there knowing you cleared 18k of debt and they still see you as a customer worth having. It's funny how banks have a way of making you feel like you've made it, even when the numbers they offer are pure peanuts.
