Warning: my best money week started with a $35 parking fine that I actually fought and won

I spent two hours researching municipal code and writing a formal dispute letter, but getting that ticket dismissed felt better than earning a bonus because it proved I could stop just paying to make problems go away and start pushing back on small fees instead.

Fought my internet bill going up $10 by calling and asking about loyalty discounts... they gave me a year at the old rate just for asking.

Used to think the same way honestly. Figured loyalty discounts were just a way to make people feel special while everyone else pays more. But then my wife called about our bill and they dropped it $20 a month. Changed my mind pretty quick.

Oh come on. You just rolled over and begged for scraps. That's why they keep jacking up prices on everyone else. If nobody called they'd have to actually compete.
