Switched from a $200 monthly gym to a $30 home setup and I'm actually sticking with it

A buddy of mine did the same thing last year. He traded his Gold's Gym membership for a used bench, a couple of kettlebells, and a pull-up bar in his garage. Now he works out in his pajamas and actually gets pissed if his schedule forces him to skip a day. Go figure.

My setup is pretty bare bones too, a squat rack, a barbell, and some weights, and it's been night and day for consistency. I saw @lunaw72 mention that buddy who gets mad when he has to skip a day, and that's exactly where I'm at now. No driving, no waiting for equipment, no feeling like I have to be there for a full hour to make it worth the trip. I just walk downstairs, get it done, and move on with my day, even if it's only twenty minutes sometimes. It's wild how removing all that extra friction made me actually want to work out instead of dreading it.
