Shoutout to the $20 rice cooker that beat my $200 instant pot

I used my Instant Pot for meal prep for like 6 months straight. Rice always came out either gummy or crunchy no matter what ratio I tried. Last week I grabbed a cheap rice cooker from Target for $20 on a whim. First batch came out perfect, fluffy, no guessing. The savings are small but I wasted way less food and time. Has anyone else had a cheap tool just work better than the expensive fancy version?

Ha, same energy as my $40 toaster that makes better toast than my fancy $200 air fryer. Guess some things just like being simple, huh?

That $200 air fryer probably has a setting for toast, but not the right one, you know? @grace_perry44 I learned the hard way that air fryers do a great job at a lot of things, but they're terrible at toasting bread because they blow hot air all around it and dry it out. A basic toaster just heats up the coils and lets the bread sit there and get that perfect browning. My wife had one of those fancy ones and we went back to a $30 Sunbeam after a few months. Sometimes the old way wins out.
