My mechanic told me he saves $200 a month just by asking for the cash price at his dentist
I never knew you could even do that at a dentist, but he said 4 out of 5 places in Phoenix knock 10% off if you pay same day. Does anyone else ask for a cash discount on stuff that isn't a car?

My dentist in Tucson does the same thing, 5% off if you pay cash the same day. I started asking everywhere after that. My eye doctor gave me $40 off a pair of glasses last year just for paying upfront instead of using insurance. Even my vet knocked $25 off a teeth cleaning when I pulled out cash. The trick is you gotta ask before they run your card, not after.
