Just learned my bank charges a $3 'inactivity fee' every month if my balance dips under $100
Found that buried on page 14 of a PDF they emailed me last Tuesday. Anyone else get hit with random fees nobody talks about until you spot them yourself?

Yeah "hide it in plain sight" is exactly what they do. I got hit with a $5 "paper statement fee" once, found the disclosure tucked in the fine print of a terms update email. What worked for me was switching to a local credit union that has a free basic checking account with no minimum balance. Also set up a $1 auto transfer from savings every month to keep the account active, which stopped the inactivity fees cold. Worth checking if your bank has a cheaper no-frills option too.
