I used to scrape my trowel clean at the end of every shift and call it good. He kept telling me to drop it in a bucket of water and let it soak while I loaded the truck, said it saves the edge. I figured he was just old school and set in his ways. After 3 weeks of soaking I noticed I'm not fighting caked mortar off the blade every morning and my wrist doesn't ache by noon. The trowel is 4 years old and this is the longest I've gone without chipping the corner. Has anyone else had a foreman give you a tip you brushed off at first but ended up using every day?
