A $12 tube of silicone grease fixed my sticking RV slide and I owe Harbor Freight an apology
My slide-out on the travel trailer started grinding and stalling halfway out last June, and I had a mobile tech quote me $850 to replace the whole gear assembly. Before paying that I sprayed white lithium on the rails like a genius, which just collected dirt and made it worse. A guy at the RV park in Amarillo told me to wipe everything clean and put a thin coat of silicone grease on the gear teeth instead, and it slid smooth on the first try. Anyone else find out their "failed" part was just the wrong lube the whole time?
