Was poking around moss on my walk and found out it's older than trees

I was looking at this patch of moss on a rock near my creek last Saturday, got curious, and looked it up when I got home. Turns out moss has been around for like 450 million years, way before trees even existed on land. Has anyone else stumbled onto a plant fact that made you feel small?

Moss wins by just showing up for 450 million years.

Yeah, I get what you're saying, but I don't see why that makes you feel small. It's moss. It's been around a long time, so what? Trees aren't really that different, they've been around for hundreds of millions of years too. Moss didn't invent anything special, it just grew on rocks and stayed tiny. People act like old things are automatically impressive, but moss is still just moss at the end of the day. I'd be more impressed if it could do something useful for us now instead of just sitting there being old.
