Tried the 'ice cube method' on my orchid for a month and it actually worked

I was convinced it was a total gimmick, but my Phalaenopsis just put out a new spike after 6 weeks of consistent watering with three cubes. Anyone else have weird plant care tricks that actually pan out?

Ever notice how the silliest life hacks sometimes work the best?

Seriously, it's like the universe rewards the weird little workarounds. I use a chopstick stuck in the soil to check if my plants need water. My grandma swore by banana peels in her rose bushes. The proper, by-the-book method is often so fussy, and the simple hack just... works. It feels like a quiet little rebellion against overcomplicating things.
