My neighbor June said she talks to her orchid every morning
She told me it's not about the words, it's about checking the leaves and roots for tiny changes each day. Has anyone else picked up a habit like that from watching a plant closely?

Picked it up from my fiddle leaf fig, now I talk to it every morning too. Problem is I keep apologizing to it for every brown spot on its leaves, like "I'm sorry I forgot to water you last week, please don't die on me." Pretty sure my neighbors think I've lost it when they see me through the window having a full on negotiation with a houseplant. At least June has a classy routine with her orchid. I'm just over here begging a plant not to give up on me.
