My grandma's 1970s houseplant book said to water ferns with ice cubes and I finally tried it on my Boston fern
I was digging through a box of her old stuff in the garage and found this beat up copy of a houseplant guide from 1974 with a whole page on ferns. It said to drop 2 or 3 ice cubes on the soil once a week instead of pouring water, so I tried it on my Boston fern that had been browning at the tips for months. Three weeks in and the new fronds look way better, so did our grandmas actually know something the internet doesn't, or did I just get lucky?
