Found a trick to stop my jade plant dropping leaves in winter
After losing half the leaves on my jade plant last December, I tried watering it with room temp water instead of cold tap water and it didn't drop a single leaf this winter - has anyone else found water temp makes that big a difference?

Yeah, water temp definitely matters for jade plants. I switched to letting my tap water sit out overnight before using it, and it stopped the leaf drop cold. Cold water shocks the roots, plain and simple.

Wait wait wait, are you telling me I've been shocking my jade plants for years with cold tap water? I always just fill my watering can from the sink and dump it straight in. I had no idea letting it sit out made that much of a difference. Honestly, that explains so much about the leaf drop I had last winter. I'm definitely trying the overnight trick tonight.
