Changed my mind about those fancy grow light kits

I dropped about $80 on a full spectrum LED panel for my indoor herbs, thinking it was a must-have. My basil got leggy and weak within a month, even with the light on a timer. Turns out my south-facing kitchen window gives better, more consistent light for free. The kit is just collecting dust now. Anyone else find that simple sunlight beats the expensive gear?

Ugh, my succulents stretched out under a cheap purple light too.

That "stretched out" look is my personal brand of plant care. I've got a leggy succulent collection that could double as a modern art exhibit. I guess we both learned the hard way about those purple lights.
