Visited a temp agency in Memphis and noticed the boss treating temps like disposable parts on a machine

Walked into a temp agency to pick up a check and saw the manager snapping at people for being 3 minutes late, then bragging about how many he'd fired that week. Did he really think that kind of attitude builds any loyalty or decent work out of people?

Three minutes late" might not be the actual problem, more like a pattern of showing up unprepared.

Honestly, "a pattern of showing up unprepared" hits the nail on the head. It's like clocking in three minutes late wearing mismatched boots and a half-eaten donut. You're not just late, you're broadcasting that you didn't even try to get your stuff together. Ngl, that's worse than just showing up three minutes late - that's a whole lifestyle choice right there.
