Vent: Changed my mind about skipping 1-on-1s after my manager went sideways
I used to think skipping weekly 1-on-1s with my boss was fine since nothing was wrong. Last month at a marketing firm in Austin, I skipped three in a row and she reassigned my biggest client to someone else without telling me. Found out when the client emailed me asking why I wasn't on the project anymore. Has anyone else had a manager pull something like this over missed check-ins?

Whoa, that's wild. Skipping a few check-ins definitely shouldn't mean losing a whole client without a heads up. Sounds like your boss was way too quick to pull the trigger on that one.
