Tried documenting everything after my boss gaslit me over a project deadline - game changer
Honestly, I had this manager at a marketing firm in Austin who kept moving goalposts on a campaign launch. After he swore I missed a meeting that never happened, I started saving every Slack message and email into a folder by date. Next time he tried to blame me for a late deliverable, I pulled up three screenshots showing his approval timestamp. He shut up fast. Ngl, it felt petty at first but now I do this for all my projects. Anyone else got a system for dealing with gaslighting bosses?

Oh man, this hits close to home. I swear some managers think their word is law and you're just supposed to forget what they said. Good on you for keeping receipts, it's the only way to fight back when they twist the truth. I started doing something similar after a boss tried to claim I never submitted a report... pulled up the email with the read receipt and he went quiet real fast. It feels kind of sneaky but honestly, it's just protecting yourself.

Doesn't it feel good when evidence backs you up like that? I read somewhere that a lot of workplace conflicts come from people just misremembering things, so having paper trails really helps clear the air. Good for you keeping those receipts, Richardh44. It's wild how quiet people get when you have proof. Feels sneaky at first but after a while it becomes second nature, especially if you've been burned before.
