My boss started tracking our bathroom breaks with a spreadsheet last quarter

Morale has completely tanked since then, and three people on my team have already quit. Has anyone else's manager tried this kind of micromanaging?

My last boss timed our coffee runs. He'd stand by the Keurig with a stopwatch app and make notes if you took longer than two minutes. It created such a weird, tense vibe that our best salesperson left for a less insane competitor. Tracking bathroom breaks is a whole new level of awful.

That "weird, tense vibe" is how so many places kill morale.

Three weeks in at my old call center job, the manager put a sign-in sheet next to the restroom with a column for "reason for visit." I had a kidney infection and had to go like every 45 minutes. He pulled me into his office and said I was costing the company $3.47 an hour in lost productivity. I quit the next day and found out later that three other people from my team did the same thing within a month.
