My boss kept moving my deadlines up by a day without telling me
It got so bad I started putting a fake due date in our shared project tracker, one day later than the real one. When he'd inevitably move it up, it would land on the actual deadline I needed. I did this for a project in Q3 and it saved my sanity. Anyone else have a boss who pulls this kind of stuff?

Ever notice how this happens with everything now, not just work? Like when a doctor says be there at 10 but they really mean 10:15... you have to build in that buffer just to function. It feels like we're all being trained to expect things earlier than stated. Your fix is smart, it's just dealing with the messed up system. Kind of sad that playing games with dates is what it takes to get a fair deadline.

Exactly, it's a weird social tax on everyone's time. My dentist does the same thing, booking people in overlapping slots. The buffer just becomes part of the mental math for any appointment now.
