Just realized my boss was tracking our bathroom breaks using the security cameras

I work in a call center in Phoenix and our manager Greg literally printed out a report showing everyone's bathroom times last month. He claimed it was to 'improve efficiency' but I caught him zooming in on the timestamps from the hallway cam. Has anyone else dealt with a manager who monitors stuff that's way too personal?

My company tried this back in 2017 in our Tampa office. I filed a complaint with HR about the hallway cameras being used for bathroom tracking specifically, citing privacy concerns under Arizona's workplace laws. Got a handful of other coworkers to do the same and eventually Greg's boss stepped in and shut down the whole report. Sometimes HR is useless but if you can show them the specific privacy policy being broken they actually have to act.

Greg's boss probably realized the only thing worse than a bunch of employees complaining about bathroom cameras is having to explain to a judge why they're tracking who's pooping at 2pm. Classic move getting the policy cited though, that usually makes HR's eyes glaze over and they scramble to hide the evidence. Bet that report got shredded faster than Greg's dignity when his boss found out. Did anyone ever figure out what the hell they were hoping to gain from that data?
