I actually think micromanagers get a worse rap than they deserve sometimes
I worked for a guy named Dave at a small pest control outfit in Austin for about 8 months. He checked in on every single invoice I sent and wanted to see photos of every job before it closed out. Yeah it was annoying but you know what? I never had a single dispute with a customer because everything was documented right. Has anyone else had a 'control freak' boss who actually saved them from bigger headaches down the road?

WAIT Dave wanted to see PHOTOS of every job?? That is wild honestly. I had a boss at a bakery who made us count the register three times at close and I thought that was extra. But now I’m thinking if a customer ever claimed we shortchanged them, we’d have the proof. Still, photos though. That must have felt super invasive at first.

I read somewhere that some cleaning companies actually require photos too, like for insurance purposes if something gets damaged or a client tries to claim you broke their stuff... It makes sense in a way but I can't imagine having to stop and document every little thing you did. Still beats counting cash three times though, at least photos don't lie like a register can.
