Watched a guy spend 4 hours cleaning his gutters with a garden hose and a prayer

I was up on my roof last Saturday doing mine with a leaf blower and a rake attachment. Took me 45 minutes tops. My neighbor across the street had a ladder out, a hose running, and was scooping crud by hand. He kept stopping to wipe his face. After 3 hours he was maybe half done. I get that not everyone has the same tools but there are cheaper options than the fancy gutter guards. A $30 leaf blower attachment from Home Depot saved me probably 6 hours of my life this fall alone. Has anyone else watched someone take the hardest possible route to fix something simple?

Four hours with a hose, I'd just hire a neighborhood kid for 20 bucks.

Gotta push back on that a little. Twenty bucks for four hours of dragging a hose around in the heat? That's basically paying someone to hate you. Kids these days know their worth, and honestly, good for them. Pay a fair wage like fifteen an hour and you'll get someone who actually cares about doing a decent job instead of half-assing it.
